Personalized learning for every student
We personalize learning for each student to ensure they are getting the most out of their education. With smaller class sizes to start, we will have more one-on-one time with each student to help ensure they are getting the help and attention they need. Our hope is that as enrollment increases, we will be able to hire more staff to ensure we do not lose this personalization and one-on-one attention that most homeschool families are accustomed to.
Exciting discoveries and achievements
Through flexible schedules, students will have more freedom when they need a break or to move around, which will ensure more attentive students that produce better work. Through hands-on learning, students will be able to have a more active role in their education and learning, feeling like they are the ones driving the car, not just along for the ride.
Building resilience and future readiness
Trying and failing is a key to truly learning. When we take the hands-on elements or student independently led work out of the learning process, we rob the students of key critical thinking and experiences. We cannot be resilient without going through failure and having to try again or come at the problem from a different way.
A day in our innovative learning environment
Our school days will be flexible, but the idea is to start the day with tutoring during drop-off (8:30-9:00 A.M.). Then, during the 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. hours, we will work on Mia Academy/Mia Prep, math, ELA, spelling, reading, writing, science, history, and Bible studies. This will be broken up differently for each grade group and will look differently each day. We will also have stretching, jumping jacks, dance breaks, and other forms of movement-based breaks during this time. There will be a daily lunch and free block from 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. for all ages. Then, in the afternoon for the last 2 hours, we will have the personal choice EC classes. This will be P.E., art, music, languages, and all other EC classes.
